The friend that was with us yesterday when Cadburry left us came by today with an animal carrier. Seems that one of their cats had caught himself a wild bunny baby, so they decided to bring it over to us to try and care for. He's adorable and doing well, but we don't hold out much hope for him because he is a baby wild bunny and they don't have very good rehab rates. He has a fighting chance however, because he wasn't damaged by the cat, and was healthy when we got him. He seems to be about 10 days old. He has yet to take food (he was brought over this morning), but he is still healthy & is beginning to get a bit more active now. We're hoping he'll take some kitten milk replacer or goat's milk in the morning. I did get a tiny bit of the milk (enhanced with the required intestinal flora) into his mouth this evening, so that's better than nothing. He has to swallow sometime, even if it is two drops. He is currently in my favorite fuzzy hat, in a plastic box, in a cage in our living room. *grin* Talk about warm & cozy! We have provided him with a water bottle, and some nice soft timothy hay.
In other news, we prepared a cage for our pregnant doe that is soon to be delivered, fixed my bike (as best we can without WD40), cleaned the yard, prepared some of the worms for their new home, put the plants back outside, and finally had some barbecue chicken for dinner like we've been wanting to for a week.
The new neighbors are moving in tomorrow, and all of the plants are not yet put in, but we did finish placing the gravel in the unplantable areas (concrete) for aesthetic value. They seemed happy that they are getting flowers instead of plain old grass, so I don't think there will be a problem with putting the bulbs in even after they finish moving in if it takes us that long.
