Information You Need & Random Other Goodies

    Save the Internet: Click here
Congress is pushing a law that would let big businesses pay big money to have their web sites open quickly on your computer, and leave everyone else in the slow lane. Our current "Net Neutrality" is the reason that the Internet is "a force for economic innovation, civic participation and free speech." If we don't speak up now, "Congress will cave to a multi-million dollar lobbying campaign by telephone and cable companies that want to decide what you do, where you go, and what you watch online." It is already happening in other countries who censor internet access and content for their citizens, and it's even happening in Canada!

Here You can see a mated pair of Bald Eagles tending their nest via the "Eagle Eye Cam" from Hancock Wildlife Channel. Right now, there are eggs in the nest, but you usually cannot see them as they are under the bird. Wouldn't it be neat to catch the hatching?! A very interesting bit about the web feed is that it has sound. Watch the nest and hear the sounds of the forest too! The eggs are scheduled to hatch April 26th and 30th. Exceedingly cool! *grin*

An interesting new-to-me video is up on Google Video today. This movie is about despotism and was made back in 1946 by Encyclopedia Brittanica Films. I have yet to watch it, but a friend of mine wondered how many of the creators of it ended up serving time for being communists... Interesting question.

Some seriously random news & info to exercise your gray matter:
Ponderfodder is a new site where you can learn about and discuss the latest ideas, theories, discoveries, and inventions."

"Think of it as a place that will allow the masses to promote the intellectual and social advancement of our global society.

    Think of it as brainporn.

The meaning of the site's name is, we hope, self-evident - this is a site that will give you something to think about."

In more personal news, today is a much needed day of rest. I'm still getting quite a bit of work done in the yard & for business stuff, but I'm also having a good ole' time browsing random news feeds, checking email, and just plain having a bit of E-fun. *smile* The girls are being relatively well behaved, Keebler is reading graphic novels, and we have a friend over visiting. It's time for someone to start cooking dinner and I need to go and buy some printer ink & a color refill kit & get a nap in before I go to work tonight, So I'll be talking to you later. *waves*
