    Car Coma

Deposited some cash into my bank account to cover a check I didn't know I was going to have to write. I thought they took cash, so had taken my money out of my bank so I wouldn't have to wait for a check to clear.

Anyway, I did that, shopped around a bit for a nice business blazer, then went to the health food store to pick up some bulk herbs for tea. When we left the health food store, however, is when the trouble started.

The car wouldn't start. Battery is just fine, all the peripherals (lights, radio, etc.) work great, it just does nothing when I turn the key. No click, no rev, no grinding, no nothing. *sigh*

It's not that I didn't know it was getting to be time for a new car, but geez. If it's not one thing.... As they say.

To make the waiting on my poor, beleaguered mother to come pick us up a bit easier, we stopped in at the nearby DAV and Salvation Army thrift stores on foot to see if they had anything worth buying. They did, but not in my size. Heck, they didn't even have anything in the sizes I used to be. Then again, neither did Kohls, Waldemart or Targe't. I found some things online, but I'm afraid to buy anything I can't try on first, especially since I am now the incredible shrinking woman. *chuckle*

Monday morning, I will call the tow company and get good olde Sheldon towed to my family's favorite automotive repair shoppe for diagnostics. I may get really lucky and get a super-cheap repair, but I doubt it. With the strange almost-stalling he does on a turn, his turn signal switch busted off of the steering column, and his lovely 12MPG rating, I think we all knew the time was near. Heck, we're still amazed that he even passed inspection. He is currently in a coma, but the prognosis for survival isn't good.

Geeze, so sorry to hear about your car :-( Hopefully, like you said, it'll be a cheap fix.
