    Weekly Weight Report

My flexibility is returning, and I can fit better into some of my jeans, while needing a belt for other pairs. I am starting to really notice a difference in my body and the way it feels.

    Me:
    Starting weight (August 2007): 245lbs
    Last Week's Weight: 208lbs
    Current Weight: 204lbs
    Weekly Loss: 4lbs
    Total loss to date: 41lbs
    Weight Goal: 135
    Pounds to Loose: 69

    Keebler:
    Starting weight (August 2007): 179lbs
    Last Week's Weight: 170lbs
    No Change
    Weight Goal: 145
    Pounds to Loose: 25

I am going to have to get Keeb to drink more juice if he's to keep losing to his preferred weight. He's so close already, that loosing may be more difficult for him right now than it is for me.

We still haven't managed to find time to work out, but the new lifestyle is going strong. I woke up starving-dying-hungry a couple of nights in a row last week for some bizarre reason, but instead of eating something, just drank a 1/2 dose of slim fast to tide me over until morning. I think it had to do with not eating two hours before bedtime those two days. The diet drink as midnight snack worked rather well however, and didn't encourage my body to store it like a sandwich or something with more substance and calories would have done.

Living smarter, without doing without, and still speeding towards the goals.

    HI!
I am fairly new to your blog.
I am wondering how you are accomplishing this wonderful weight loss. I have just recently started a plan for healthier eating and am looking for all the tips and tricks I can.
    Thanks!

    Thanks Rambleman!

Sandy, most of what I have been doing is NOT weighing myself every day, keeping a container of water (or tea) next to me at all times so I never get thirsty, eating healthy (with fats included), Drinking some 8oz V8 fusion in the morning before breakfast, and drinking a slim fast if I get hungry too late in the evening.

I have also added more cabbage to my weekly food intake. I haven't been getting any more physical activity than before, but I have been actively avoiding stress as much as possible, drinking less liquor, and avoiding soda more effectively, substituting juices or flavored water instead, while avoiding all artificial sweeteners if I can help it.

I expect to plateau out at about 180lbs or so, because my body was at that weight for several years before I started gaining again. At that point, I will start exercising more so that I can continue the weight loss. I may also need to implement some other dietary changes at that point, but we won't know until we get there. *smile*

Best of luck meeting your goals, and thanks for visiting!

    Wow!
Your plan doesn't seem all that far off from mine except for the cabbage part. Ick. What does the cabbage do for you?
I am going to try the V8 fusion and see how that goes. I never thought of using that as a way to get my veggies.
Do you drink Slim Fast just the one time a day? I started off on the Slim Fast plan but it doesn't seem to work for me. I still found myself hungry enough to eat a snack with it and the hunger still wasn't gone for long.
I don't know about you but I am having a hard time finding flavored waters that don't have artificial sweeteners in them. Aspartame seems to be the drug of choice for the flavored water industry. I am skeptical of what it might do to me 10 years down the road if I keep drinking it. I find it very hard for me to drink much water during the day without switching to something that actually has flavor to it. What kind of waters have you found?
You sound kind of like me. I too was in the 180 range for about 10 years before I had a baby two years ago and so that's probably where I'll plateau out at too. But I just received a pamphlet in the mail yesterday from a new gym that started up in my town that is offering 24/7 services so I plan on maybe trying to get my exercise that way once it starts getting harder to lose more weight.
Good luck to you and thanks so much for all this information!

Congratulations on the weight loss! You are strong for not weighing yourself everyday. I weigh myself every day and every night, so I can get a feel for what worked that day and what didn't. Basically, it's just OCD =)
I am currently 15 pounds from my goal and am finding it increasingly more difficult to stay on track.
I can't wait to see how each week goes with you.

Sandy, Actually, in the last 6 months, I've only drank 4 slim fast shakes at all. I only use the stuff as a stop-gap measure when It's to late to eat real food. *chuckle* Like they say on TV, diets don't work, but things from certain diets, blended together for each individual, can work.

Cabbage is one of those foods (like celery) that takes more energy to eat than it gives back. It fills up your tummy without adding calories. I would have added celery, but as you said about cabbage, yuck! *laugh*

Also, don't take any multivitamins. You are likely getting too many vitamins for your body to process from some of your foods, and not enough of others, which can cause unhealthy imbalances. Taking a multi instead of looking at your daily intake and seeing what you actually need can skew the balance even further. Find out what vitamins you need and preferably, eat more whole foods containing those vitamins. If you hate the food or can't find it, then, and only then, go for a vitamin or supplement.

Most of the time when I want a flavored water, I just add a juice to some water. It is a lighter flavor than the juice full strength, and very refreshing. If it needs a bit of sugar, just add a dash to taste and stir well. Also, drinking beverages warm allows the sweetness to come out better, reducing the need for added sweeteners.

If your problem is hunger, but not overeating, might I suggest a ginger capsule, a red pepper fruit capsule, a low-dose ginkgo, and a chromium picolinate tablet before each meal? I used this method without any dietary change about a year ago, but didn't stick with it very well (not into pills). I called it the "loose your fat a$$" system. *laugh* I didn't like it very much, but it boosts metabolism, energy, and blood flow, while reducing inflammation (sometimes caused by working out), which really helps with the overall well-being we are all looking for, especially when we are trying to regain a healthy shape.

Wow, girl! You are an abundance of information! I really appreciate it though. I am going to apply some of your advice/tricks to my plan and see how it goes.
    Thanks so much!

Sandy, Thanks! Be sure to let me know how it works out for you. I'm thinking of writing a book after I achieve my goals.

See you again soon, and ask me anything, I just love to help. *grin*
