The ice is making quite the noise as it falls off of the trees. We are expecting freezing rain this afternoon and evening, so all the melt we can get is a good step. It is too warm outside for snow to form, a balmy 30 degrees.
I was told that this morning before I awoke, some random stranger knocked on the door to ask if we had a cigarette we could give him. Strange, dangerous, and creepy. I have an ironwood staff next to the door, and I am not afraid to use it.
The lights are flickering in the house at random. I can only assume that the limbs springing back from the ice weight are wiggling the lines and causing loose connections to have a problem. I hope the new ice doesn't throw us over the edge into darkness.
