    Where's George? Another Confession

Here I go again, letting you in on my not-quite-so-publicly-advertised bits of weirdness. I like to write on money.

I like to highlight parts of dollars, and stamp them with my rubberstamper, and...
    Well you get the idea.

Since December of 2001 when I gave a friend a fake million dollar bill for Yule and he told me about the site, I've been Georging.

When a body writes the URL www.Wheresgeorge.com on a peice of paper money after entering the denomination, serial number, and series into the website, they have Georged a bill. When they spend said marked dollar, they set the George free, thus creating a Wild George. Wild Georges wander hither and yon, over hill and dale, searching for that elusive person who will capture them and enter them back into the site's database as found, only to be released again to continue the cycle. It's sort of like catch and release for cash, and it's a lot of fun. There's even a tracking system for Canadian money!

Georging is yet another of the perfectly legal but eyebrow-raising things we do in our spare time. Of course it doesn't hurt that every time one of our bills is found we get an impromptu geography lesson either. *chuckle* Do you have an off-beat hobby?

"Georging" sounds like fun! I think I actually found a "gearged" $1 last year. I wasn't sure what to do with it, besides by a cup of hazelnut coffee. Now I know.

    I'm a Where's George addict too.
