Newswire: UN Conference on Small Arms

The recent UN Conference on Small Arms has been hailed as a victory by many gun owners. The United States rightly refused to compromise on a variety of issues

[1] including:- references to development- inclusion of ammunition- a ban on sales of weapons to non-state actors- references to civilian possession- mandatory follow-upWhile this is certainly good news, don't break out the champagne just yet. As we stated in our July 9 alert

[2] the UN fully intends to end gun ownership in America. A recent Associated Press article

[3] detailing the "failure" of the conference contains this revealing quote:"Despite the failure, delegates planned to raise many of the same issues in the U.N. disarmament committee - where consensus is not needed for agreement - to begin preparing a treaty that would make law out of many of the global principles supported by non-governmental groups.

"In other words, the UN _will_ pursue their quest for universal civilian disarmament despite objections from several of its member countries, including the United States! And just who would be writing these laws? Unelected, unaccountable foreign bureacrats. Don't be fooled, and don't let your guard down. The UN is a danger to US sovereignity and your personal freedom. And you're financing it with your tax dollars.
