I find that it is REALLY easy to fall into the trap of thinking that it is easy for others to do what oneself finds simple.
I think art is simple, I think thinking and learning are simple, I think living on little or no cash happily is much simpler than others seem to think it is. I regularly do things that some think are impossible, but that doesn't stop me from achieving my dreams.
One of the hardest lessons for me to learn was "Just because I can, doesn't mean anyone can, because I'm not necessarily as average as I was led to believe."
We all know it requires a multitude of skills to accomplish any seemingly large task but we are
systematically trained to believe that we are no better than anyone else, that all people are equal, that we should not have pride for pride is a vice, and so on... It's really hard in this day and age, with all of our "programming" to think of ourselves as great or amazing at anything much at all.
With how most people commonly think of themselves as "nothing special" and "average", it is really no wonder that we feel that anyone can do the simple things that we have done ourselves, and that is where the discrepancy really lies.
No matter who or where you are, what your skills are, how fast you learn, or how much you have, there is always someone with more, and always someone with less than you. We're all specially skilled at living our own lives, solving our own problems, and doing what needs done.
That's what makes each one of us, singularly amazing.
All ya gotta do is do with whatcha got. *grin*

I have fallen into that trap where I don't believe I'm anything "special", or that I'm really not living a life that anyone else couldn't. Good post!
