    "Thank You"

Karen over at TrollBaby writes a small blip about the charity ads on the side of so many blogs this holiday season.

"During this Holiday Season, you’ll notice that all of us in the BlogHer Ad Network have small ads displayed for various charities, including (but not limited to) Doctors Without Borders, Planned Parenthood, and Heifer International. A portion of funds raised through viewing the sites in the network will go directly to these important organizations. In addition, if you click through to the organization of your choice, you’ll have the opportunity to make a donation directly.

Be sure to visit other network blogs by using the links below the ads. You’ll be helping those in need by doing so! Thank you for visiting, and Happy Holidays to you and yours!"

I have nothing to add to it, as I think she said it best.

My personal favorite org on the list is one I had never heard of before I saw it on my sidebar. Heifer International supplies animals to people in need on the sole condition that when they reproduce, they share some of the offspring with their neighbors for free as well. What a fantastic and simple way to bolster entire communities' sustainability. They also teach the recipients animal health care and first aide to better assist them on their new journey. A duck or chicken costs so very little.

No matter what your favorite charity, if you have a moment and a spare dime, click a link and lend a hand today.

Heifer is one of my favorites. We surprised my mom a couple Christmases ago by giving 'her' bees that way (she's always had this pipe dream of having bees), and she started to cry. I only wish I could contribute more to them.

I love the fact that they also teach environmental awareness and
sustainable farming methods on top of the animal care.
